Why we plan in nights, not hours.

Zamora sits on the Madrid–Galicia rail corridor, so most people meet it as a stopover: off the train, around the cathedral, back on the train. Three hours. What they miss is everything that makes this place different — the tapas hour when the old town fills with locals, the sunset from the stone bridge, the morning when you have a 12th-century church entirely to yourself.

So every itinerary on this site assumes you'll sleep here at least once. The sweet spot is three nights: one full day for the city, one for Toro wine country, one for the Sanabria lake or the Arribes del Duero canyon — all within an hour of your hotel.
